Google Introduces Blockchain Node Engine Service For Ethereum
Google Cloud will host the blockchain node engine and be exclusive to Ethereum-based Web3 companies.
Key Takeaway
Google launched a cloud-based Blockchain Node Engine that is exclusive to Ethereum.
The goal is to help Web3 companies that find it challenging to take on the duo activity of managing and deploying its nodes.
This proves Google’s commitment to helping Web3 Companies beyond just financial investment, as it has been doing.
Details On Google’s Blockchain Node Engine
Tech giant Google (NASDAQ: GOOGL), on Thursday, 27th September 2022, announced the launch of a Blockchain Node Engine. According to Google, its Blockchain Node Engine is a “fully managed node-hosting service that can minimize the need for node operations,” which will help Web3 companies that find it challenging to deploy and manage its node and provide security to their blockchain infrastructure. It also mentioned that this service would be limited only to Ethereum nodes.
In this context, nodes are devices responsible for validating and storing transaction history on a blockchain ledger.
Why This is Important To Google
Google considers this move based on its commitment “to help Web3 developers build and deploy new products on blockchain-based platforms.” The Tech giant also acknowledged the impact of blockchain on information, saying, “Blockchain is changing the way the world stores and moves its information.”
Bottom Line
This isn’t Google’s first move into offering blockchain-based services; Early in October, it informed of its partnership with Coinbase to provide crypto payments for its cloud services. Google has invested over 1.5 billion dollars in Web3 startups and upstarts in the last two years. Several other industry giants, including Fidelity bank and New York Bank Mellon, have shown interest and attraction toward crypto, Web3, and blockchain.
